Once a week we will send you a 60 minute video covering. You then have 7 days to watch the video, ask us any questions and implement its content. Between weeks eight and twelve you also receive a free 45 minute one-to-one video coaching call.

We will explore in detail all the skills and knowledge you need to be a successful business owner and make 2020 your best business year yet! For one hour a week you can distance yourself from your day to day duties, and work on your business – not in it!

We will spend time on each and every area of your business, from marketing and sales to your operations, tax and HR. Some of this you already know so its will act as a useful recap and “health check”, but some things will be new which you can immediately implement to make your business stronger and more robust.

Once a week we will send you a new video. Watch from your office, from your home, from the train, anywhere you like on whatever device you like.

FREE SESSION (Session one) – INTRODUCTION – WATCH ABOVE VIDEO

Introduction … aims and aspirations … conducting a health check on your business. Ten key questions you need to ask yourself about the current state of your company, with quick and easy strategies you can implement immediately (over the next 7 days) to fill in the gaps. The aim is to immediately make your business stronger and more robust, boost revenues and profits and get you an immediate return on investment from taking this course.

WEEK TWO – MARKETING FOR SMALL BUSINESSES

Unless your turnover is more than £100 million a year, you should not be engaged in brand advertising. We will discuss the golden rules for small business marketing and the importance of getting a return on investment from each and every piece of marketing you do. We will also cover traditional forms of marketing like newspaper and magazine adverts, email marketing, telephone, direct mail etc.

WEEK THREE – ONLINE MARKETING FOR SMALL BUSINESSES

This will be an online marketing masterclass and will cover all aspects of online marketing including Google AdWords (Pay Per Click), Facebook Ads and how you should be using your social media to drive your business. We will also discuss your website and how to optimize your website for important keywords so your business shows up on organics web searches. There is a vast amount of material this week so we will definitely-take more than an hour.

WEEK FOUR – COPYWRITING

Copywriting is a crucial art for small business owners and it almost always overlooked. We will spend the whole session discussing the copy on your website and your written materials (brochures, sales letters etc).

Take your website for example, that’s a one-way conversation. You are talking to people who like lots of information and people who want limited information at the same time, and you can’t interact with them or answer their questions while they are looking at your page. Its absolutely crucial your copy speaks to as many people as possible all the time.

WEEK FIVE – IMPORTANCE OF PR

Generating free PR for you company is crucial and it’s really quick and easy to do! A good local PR piece in your paper can generate thousands of pounds of revenue, position you and your business as market leaders and help drive your website up the search engine listings! And you can do it quickly and easily and it’s for free! Very few business owners do this but I will convince you its low hanging fruit and you cant afford not to! I will show you how to write a press release, and how to target certain areas of the media.

WEEK SIX – SALES PROCESS

To some people in the UK “sales” is a dirty word and we associate it with pushy people who won’t take no for an answer. However if sales is done well, and if you can blur the line between sales and excellent customer service you can expand your business dramatically.

Once you have got your marketing right, sales is the most a crucial aspect if you are serious about growing your business. We will look at how your respond to incoming leads, and also help build you an successful sales process for when you go fishing for new business.

WEEK SEVEN – PRODUCT PRICING & COMPETITOR ANALYSIS

We will spend this session looking at your pricing model, and how you are deciding what to charge for the service or products you are supplying. We will discuss the importance of pricing and what that tells your clients about you. We will discuss pricing levels, and the importance of offering premium pricing plans and how you do this.

We will also look at how you analyse your competitors, and what is useful information and what is not!

WEEK EIGHT – BEING LEGAL

Perhaps the thing that scares most entrepreneurs! We are busy people generating revenue and jobs for the economy, yet we are bogged down by red tape and buraracy! I feel your pain but its something we have to do so I will make this session as informative but pain free as possible.

We will discuss all the obligations of being a fully legal and compliant business, from tax to your annual accounts and companies house statement’s. Your pension responsibilities, PAYE responsibilities, HR responsibilities and what types of insurance you need. We will also discuss if you should be joining your industry associations or not.

WEEK NINE – BUILDING YOUR TEAM

Hiring the right people is absolutely crucial, so we will explore how you recruit the best people, how to interview them and how to avoid making recruitment mistakes. Most importantly we will look at how to fire people when you have made a mistake.

This session is not just about hiring and firing, we will also look at the structures you need in your business to allow your staff to succeed and feel supported. The importance of communication with staff, regular one-to-ones and setting clear success criteria for each member of staff on a regular basis.

WEEK TEN – HOW TO SCALE YOUR BUSINESS, RAISING FINANCE & YOUR EXIT PLAN

How to grow your business, how to deal with the inevitable growing pains and how to deal with the continuous state of change. We will look at the importance of your business plan during periods of growth, and the importance of your direction, leadership, communication and strategy.

We will also explore the best ways to raise finance for your business and look at the advantages and disadvantages of share sales, bank loans, finding investors or venture capital. Finally we will discuss the importance of having an exit plan and how to scale your business with an exit in mind.

WEEK ELEVEN – PERSONAL SKILLS

This session is more about you personally than your business. You are responsible for driving your business forward so we will look at your personal skills and mindset. We will look at the specific skills which are important for entrepreneurs and give you tips and methods to make you an even better leader.

WEEK TWELVE – CONCLUSION, MOVING FORWARD & MINDSET FOR 2020

In the final session we will bring everything together, discuss how you should move forwards and get your mindset right to make 2020 your most successful business year yet!
